What’s the number one reason why Eden Prairie homes are so popular? It’s hard to say. The 2010 census didn’t gauge this parameter, and I never surveyed my customers who purchased Eden Prairie MN homes. It’s also hard to determine because the real estate market in this community is so varied, that there is something here for everyone, regardless of the type of neighborhood, style, or price range you are looking for.

Money Magazine had a few of its own reasons for awarding this community as the 6th best suburb in the Midwest, and I am not going to tell you what the first five communities are. Perhaps it received Money Magazine’s praise because this wholesome midwestern community of 60,000 residents and tree-lined, well-kept neighborhoods can brag about being an economic powerhouse; over 2,200 businesses, including multiple Fortune 500 companies. Many of my clients purchased relocated here because of employment provided by the Eden Prairie Center, Hennepin Technical College, and a host of other local enterprises. Although it might not be the greatest reason for purchasing a home here, this is home to “Winter Park,” the training camp for the Minnesota Vikings. Probably the biggest reason for choosing Eden Prairie homes is the quality of the ISD 272 schools. EP students score well above the national average on the SAT and ACT tests, and a whopping 95% of high school graduates go on to attend a two or four year college.

Eden Prairie MN Townhomes
Eden Prairie townhomes offer convenience, and in most cases are more affordable than single family Eden Prairie homes. Southwest Station condominiums are worth checking out if you want to be close to public transit that can get you to downtown Minneapolis quickly. Hartford Place is a Pulte-built community conveniently located next to Eden Prairie Center, a major regional shopping mall. Another notable Pulte-built townhome neighborhood is Staring Lake, which lies about halfway between Eden Prairie Center and Flying Cloud Airport. Centex company has built several EP townhome neighborhoods, including Hawthorne, Pinebrook, and Mitchell Village.
