Waconia Landing
Why not live on a premier western Twin Cities are suburban lake that is second in size only to nearby Lake Minnetonka, but a whole lot quieter? Sure, Lake Minnetonka is big and has plenty of nice muskies, but man, it’s a traffic jam trying to get onto it on the weekend. Homes on Lake Waconia enjoy a more peaceful setting, the water quality is better, and the walleye fishing is excellent. Lake Waconia is a fully recreational lake and is ideal for water sports of all types, including jet-skiing, tubing, fishing, swimming, and sailing. Even if you don’t buy a lake home right on Lake Waconia waterfront, there are some wonderful and affordable homes that enjoy deeded access, especially those in Waconia Landing, on the west side of the lake. You can enjoy the benefits of Lake Waconia, but without the upkeep of the shoreline and the higher lakeshore taxes.

Lake Waconia is regularly stocked with walleyes to supplement natural production. Walleye sizes from this lake tend to be larger, and if you want to catch them, you should check out the rock piles on the southeast end of the lake and bring some shiners with you.
Northern Pike are also lurking in this lake, especially along the weedlines, just waiting for minnows to get dragged past them. This lake is also good for smallmouth bass and muskie fishing.
